REMEMBERED

On September 10th, I was invited by my friend Seth Williams to attend a VIP luncheon and tribute ceremony to mark the 4th anniversary of the Benghazi debacle and betrayal as well as the 15th anniversary of “911”. How quickly we forget the sacrifices made by our military and civilians for the freedom we all enjoy!

Pictured above is the father of fallen Navy Seal Tyrone Woods, (below) who was among those killed at Benghazi and for who the movie “13 Hours” was filmed.

I was both surprised and disappointed to see only about 100 in attendance as there are approximated 150,000 retired military in the Jacksonville area. How quickly do we forget!! I must admit that if Seth
Williams did not invite me, I perhaps would not have attended. It was wonderful to meet with Ty Woods father Charles and also with General Thomas Mcinerney and other members of the Benghazi
Tribute Commission. Many war stories were shared as I served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy during two wars.

Pictured below from left to right are true patriots; Helmut Makosch, Lewis Obi MD, General Thomas McInerney, Pat Mulverhill and Tim Johnson Esq.

Even if we have issues with injustices that occurred in country’s past, today we are all Americans and should be proud to have the privilege to live in the greatest country in the world. Our American freedoms include the right to vote, speak your mind, the freedom of religion, and even the freedom of choice to leave America and move to another country if we so desire… Semper Fi!!!
