How appropriate that Daniel Samuels masterpiece painting depicting sculpting skills and technology is only on view at our clinic. This classical story repeats itself in works of art dating back to the great Renaissance artists. According to a Greek myth, King Pygmalion of Cypress sculpted the most beautiful woman he could imagine to share his throne. After praying to Aphrodites his creation came to life as an animate model of ultimate beauty.
Dr. Lewis Obi has always strived to adhere to the principles of classical beauty as a plastic surgeon. In addition to his artistry and experience as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Lewis Obi is an innovator, lecturer and publisher of his new techniques. In recent years, the introduction of –Stem Cells in Aesthetic Procedures” was initially applied to plastic surgery as exemplified by a recent Springer book publication.
This science was soon applied to the area of regenerative stem cell medicine with establishment of –Cell Surgical Network of Florida”.
A wide range of disease conditions are currently being treated by CSN of Florida team members Dr. Lewis Obi, Dr. David Heekin, Dr. Orlando Florete and Dr. Mark Homra. The use of stem cells derived from adult fat has been providing patients with alternatives in the treatment of many diseases. Injecting arthritic joints, damaged nerves and other tissues is only the tip of the iceberg. The use of biological scaffolds and –living inks” broadens the potential for adult stem cells and perhaps represents the frontier of medicine.
3D imaging has been performed at the Lewis Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic during the past two years:
With the advent of 3D printers, the printing of tissues and body parts is already being performed at several research centers throughout the world.
The concept of three dimensional representation becoming viable as with Pygmalion’s Creation is perhaps no longer only in the realm of science fiction.
