 Renaissance Mother's Day Celebration

Dr. Lewis Obi and his staff want to wish all of the mothers a belated Happy Mother's Day.  Our Mother's Day event on May the 4th was an extreme success.  Our entire staff was in attendance and dedicated to enhancing the care of the patients and guests.  Nurse practitioner Michelle Zager was much appreciated by her patients and continues to be one of our top professionals.  (See below to read more about Michelle.) The entire team at the Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic is indeed dedicated professionals, who on a daily basis provide our patients with quality care but sensitivity and compassion to every single patient.
We hope that you will join us for our next Renaissance event!

Already this year we have introduced several new procedures as well as medical breakthroughs in technology.  In March, Dr. Lewis Obi was one of the key presenters at an advanced body contouring symposium in Dallas and he is scheduled to present again next week in New York on his experiences with both LifeSculpt (SlimLipo) and Adivive (Lipokit).  Dr. Lewis Obi has been on the forefront of clinical applications of these two very important new technologies.  Palomar's laser lipolysis system is now used worldwide as the safest and most effective fat melting and skin tightening laser device.  In New York, Dr. Lewis Obi will be sharing his 31 months of experience in treating more than 1000 anatomic body areas.  At the same time he will share his four month experience with the Adivive Fat Processing device in 25 patients.  The Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic in January received the first FDA approved Adivive system and has had great success in the areas of facial and hand rejuvenations as well as breast reconstruction.  Last weekend Dr. Lewis Obi was the special guest of CEO Joe Caruso at the Palomar plant in Burlington, Massachusetts.  "I was literally blown away by Palomar's 130,000 square foot facilitate where R&D as well as manufacture of an entire array of lasers which all literally takes place entirely within the USA" stated Dr. Obi.  Palomar is the world leader in the field of developing and manufacturing medical lasers.  Dr. Obi was also privileged to meet and interact with world famous laser genius Gregory Altshuler, Ph. D., D. Sc. who heds up the large team of Palomar scientists.  Dr. Altshuler headed up the St. Petersburg, Russian Laser Institute until the fall of the Soviet Union.  He has been with Palomar since 1995.  "An added bonus was the privilege of meeting world famous stem cell plastic surgeon Dr. Katora Hoshimura from the University of Tokyo" said Dr. Obi.  Both doctors were guests of Palomar and were able to share their clinical results during and evening a dinner with CEO Joe Caruso.  "Joe is truly the Steve Jobs of the laser industry" stated Dr. Obi.

Dr. John Murray has been busy personally meeting and educating physicians and healthcare providers on plastic and reconstructive surgery.  Formal pesentations this Spring include CME accredited presentations at Baptist Medical Center Downtown and St. Vincent's Medical Center, as well as the Breast Cancer Symposium fir the public sponsored by Memorial Hospital.  He also has presented at the Jurkiewicz Society at Emory University last month.  The Jurkiewicz Society is a prestigious plastic surgery society named after Dr. Maurice Jurkiezicz, a forefather in plastic surgery.  While at the University Medical Center in Gainesville in the 1960's and 1970'sDr. Jurkiewicz was also a mentor and teacher while Dr. Lewis Obi was resident.

On the clinical front, Dr. Obi and Dr. Murray recently combined their skills to finalize a major reconstruction on a double mastectomy patient.  Dr. Murray reconstructed both nipples with local mini flap procedures while Dr. Lewis Obi finalized the breast mound reconstructions utilizing adipose (fat) derived stem cell fat grafting with our new Adivive System.  During the same anesthesia left over stem cell fat was used to perform a 3-D facelift (spacelift) on the patient who was extremely grateful.

Spring and Summer Surgical Specials

Through August of this year, the Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic will provide an increase reduction in fees for combination surgical procedures.  There is always a cost savings when a combination of procedures are performed.  Since Dr. Lewis Obi is one of the first USA providers of Palomar's Adivive and LifeSculpt (SlimLipo) devices, a common combination of procedures is to rejuvenate the face with unwanted fat while tightening the neck and body contouring other areas with SlimLipo.  Patients may also select to have the recent treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) with the SlimLipo laser at a low additional cost of $1200.  Breast augmentations may be enhanced with the use of the LifeSculpt (SlimLipo) system by minimizing breast sag without additional scars.  At the same time the abdominal fat will be removed with skin tightening of the entire abdomen thereby synergistically improving the entire chest and abdominal area.  In this situation, the savings may be up to 50% for the LifeScupt procedure.

Dr. Lewis Obi and Denise Merlo are happy to announce that the Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic will provide patients with the new hand-held self treatment laser Palovia at the same discounted cost at Nordstrom and QVC.  The advantages of patients acquiring their units from the Renaissance Center are numerous.

We will provide you with instructions for treating eyelid lines and also integrate the use of this laser with almost every surgical procedure performed at our facility.  Coincidentally, Palovia, although not specified by its FDA approval, also has been found to speed up healing of fresh surgical scars and also enhance collagen rejuvenation in other areas of the body.

Patients undergoing major cosmetic procedures are encouraged to integrate the use of this device in their ongoing rejuvenation efforts.  "My visit with many of the laser experts at Palomar this past weekend was very convincing," said Dr. Obi.

Come in today to get your Palovia!
