Hair loss can be devastating for men and women alike. Whether it’s thinning hair or the appearance of bald spots for women or receding hairlines, thinning hair or balding for men, hair loss can have a significant impact on one’s appearance and self esteem. But there is now an easy and painless, yet highly effective hair loss treatment that is available at Obi Plastic Surgery!
For years, Dr. Obi has pioneered aesthetic plastic surgery techniques and treatments that have consistently produced amazing results for his patients and set him apart from his peers. This treatment protocol stops hair loss within days and rejuvenates hair follicles in a natural way with the healing power of the body’s own platelets.
What is PRP and how can it help regrow hair?
PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma is a product of your own blood. Dr. Obi uses the Magellan Autologous Platelet Separator System to produce a teaspoon of clear solution rich in platelets, growth factors and stem cells known as Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP. PRP is then combined with very large quantities of your own mesenchymal Stem Cells and applied to the scalp to stimulate hair growth much faster than other hair loss treatment protocols.
Dr. Obi uses Platelet Rich Plasma in many of the procedures he performs to help reduce bruising, speed recovery and to improve skin condition. These same characteristics allow PRP to regenerate hair follicles.
How Long are Hair Loss Treatment Sessions & Recovery Times?
Treatment times depend on the size of the area being treated. Dr. Obi may recommend a single treatment session or a series of treatments for optimal results.
Treatments consist of producing PRP with the patient’s blood and scalp injections. And you may resume your regular activities on the same day that you have your treatment.
What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
Scalp injections are performed with a very fine syringe and some experience minor discomfort. If required, Dr. Obi may prescribe a sedative to help you relax during your treatment.
