Stem Cell Educational Symposium For Patients
On September 21st, Dr. Obi and the Stem Cell Surgical Team at the Cell Surgical Network of Florida hosted the first Stem Cell Educational Symposium for Patients. Stem cell specialists; Dr. Lewis J. Obi, Dr. David Heekin and Dr. Orlando Florete briefed over 70 attendees on “Adult Adipose Stem Cells” and how a patient’s own stem cells can be used to help improve debilitating conditions. The symposium began with an educational lecture from the doctors and was followed by a live stem cell therapy demonstration where attendees could see first hand how the therapy is performed and what is involved.

Dr Lewis Obi shared his research with colleagues in Boston on March 17-18 at the 2016 Boston Stem Cell Symposium. Dr. Obi expanded on his five years of experience with the use of stem cells in plastic and regenerative surgery and his planned work in 2016 with stem cell pioneer, Dr. Hee Young Lee of South Korea. Dr. Lee’s stem cell expansion and storage system allows researchers to augment two ounces of a patient’s adult fat into billions of adult stem cells and then stores the stem cells. These billions of stem cells may then be combined with a “living ink” that may be used with 3D printers to actually print and reproduce certain body parts and other human tissues for the stem cell donor.
Dr. Lewis Obi attended the 11th Annual IFATS (International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science) this past week-end in New Orleans. His membership in IFATS is preceded by 30 years of work with adult fat as a major filler for the face, breasts, hands, buttocks, etc. In fact, four years ago, Dr. Obi contributed a chapter to the first book ever published on fat derived stem cells in aesthetic procedures. Dozens of papers were presented on this subject at last weeks IFATS meeting. However none of the presenters used the Adivive (Lipokit™) technology published by Dr. Obi. Also, the simultaneous addition of PRP to the facial fat grafts was not mentioned at the meeting. Read More >>
Cell Surgical Network of Florida Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine Symposium – 2015 and Beyond
Dr. Lewis Obi has had a whirlwind fall season of events. In only six weeks he organized and presented the first ever major stem cell event on October 16 & 17 at Memorial Hospital and the Lewis Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic. A total of 200 participants attended lectures, demo sessions and hands on stem cell training courses during the Friday/Saturday Stem Cell Symposium. Dr. Obi left the next morning to attend his annual American Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting in Boston. On Monday night, he was one of a handful of plastic surgeons who participated in a major breast cancer fund raising banquet featuring Jay Leno. Read More >>
Dr. Lewis Obi, and his CSN of Florida partners, returned Sunday from CSN’s annual symposium which was held at the Beverly Hilton. More than 25 members and invited speakers presented their work in regenerative medicine. The faculty included almost every major specialty in medicine. Read More >>
Dr. Lewis Obi begins the new year as the lead presenter at the January 14th Tuesday morning session for Regenerative Stem Cell Therapies at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Obi shared three years of experience with the use of stem cell (stromal vascular fraction) fat grafting in more than 170 patients. He was introduced by Dr. Mark Berman, founding member of the California Stem Cell Treatment Center, now known as Cell Surgical Network (CSN). During this presentation, Dr. Lewis Obi shared new and innovative uses not only of adipose (fat) derived stem cells but advanced laser and plastic surgery techniques. Program chairman Mark Berman stated to Dr. Obi after his presentation: “You got the meeting off to an excellent start and the entire program was really stellar.”
After his presentation, the American Academy of Plastic Surgery journal requested permission to present his work in an upcoming issue.
