The LJO Brow Lift:
The 15 Minute, Minimal Scarring Brow Lift

One of the earliest signs of aging is that the eyebrows begin to droop resulting in a tired or saddened appearance. Even in young fair-skinned individuals, the tail of the brow (outer brow) tends to sag at an early age. This sag is often associated with redundancy of the outer segment of the upper eyelids. Unfortunately, the majority of procedures used by plastic surgeons to correct this problem distort the forehead, brows and upper eyelids. Most traditional forehead lifting procedures tend to make the patient look startled (“deer in the headlights look”) by over lifting the brows. Also attempts at correcting upper eyelid skin redundancy fails to address the outer brow sag. Excessive upper eyelid skin excision does not correct the problem and interferes with eyelid closure. If sag of the lateral brow is not simultaneously treated with the upper eyelid surgery, optimal correction may not be achieved.

The LJO Brow Lift is a plastic surgery procedure innovated by Dr. Lewis Obi almost 30 years ago. To date, he has performed this procedure on more than 5,000 brows with a high degree of success and with almost no complications. This procedure is a direct approach which is performed within the lateral brow thereby avoiding distortion. This technique lifts the tail of the brow ONLY thereby avoiding over correction. Almost all of Dr. Obi's upper and/or lower eyelid surgery patients also undergo the LJO Brow Lift procedure. It takes Dr. Lewis Obi approximately 15 minutes of additional surgery time for both brows and almost never results in any visible scars.

The LJO Brow Lift is also performed in conjunction with surgical facelifts, the OPERA lift and many other cosmetic procedures. Dr. Obi has largely abandoned the use of traditional forehead lifts, including the endoscopic approach, due to the high risk of distorting the patients most important facial features i.e. the eyelids and brows.

Other techniques for lifting the entire forehead with a more natural result include large volume fat grafting (Adivive) and the Endotine™ mid and lateral forehead lift technique.*
