Dr. Lewis J. Obi again featured as the first pictured physician in the June 2014 edition

LEWIS J. OBI M.D., A JACKSONVILLE NATIVE, graduated Cum Laude, Rho Chi and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Florida, acquired a five year degree in three years. After working as a pharmacist he graduated Cum Laude and AOA from the University of Miami. Dr. Obi then completed his residencies in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery with additional training in Cardiovascular Surgery.

Dr. Obi is actively involved with the training of other surgeons and physicians internationally. During the past six years, his practice has thrived with the integration of advanced laser (SlimLipo), fat grafting and adult stem cell technology. Recently, Dr. Obi was a primary speaker at major symposia in Miami, New York, Dallas, Denver, Santa Monica, Orlando and Long Island. Three major publications, including a book chapter on stem cells are eminent. Dr. Lewis Obi was featured as the cover story for the June 2011 issue of Plastic Surgery Practice magazine. His 12,000-sq.-ft., state- and nationally-licensed center was the first in Florida and one of the earliest in the U.S. Dr. Obi’s passion for art, expressed through his international firm, Obiarts, has resulted in his induction as a fellow to the Royal Society of Art, London (FRSA). Obiarts has contributed world class art to dozens of major museums and institutions.

Dr. Obi served both in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy during major wars. His Marine Corps discipline is still pervasive in his every day life. He has completed three New York Marathons, acquired the level of black belt in three different styles and is still an active martial artist enhanced by his Shaun T –Insanity” work outs.
